Ruby Dry DH600 Silica Gel
Dehumidifier

The Ruby Dry DH600 is the perfect solution if you are looking for a dehumidifier to effectively and consistently eliminate excess moisture in your home regardless of the temperature. It is ideal for all living areas and will protect your bathroom, bedroom, laundry room, living room, conservatory and kitchen from condensation, mould and mildew. Unlike traditional compressor-based dehumidifiers which can only extract large amounts of water during warm temperatures, when there is a big difference in the ambient air, the Ruby Dry extracts 5 litres of water ever 24 hours regardless of the weather or temperature, thanks to its desiccant technology. It is an excellent machine for allergy sufferers as it comes fitted with a double active carbon filter which purifies the ambient air by eliminating volatile particles, allergens and odours, leaving behind no residue or waste.
In addition to drying the room, the Ruby Dry DH600 generates dry, warmed air, raised in temperature by up to 12°C so you have an added benefit of a heater as well! Weighing just 7kg, the DH600 is portable and easy to manoeuvre so it can be moved from room to room without any stress at all. As it has no compressor, this high performance house dryer guarantees you a comfortable operating silence whilst helping to maintain the ideal humidity level required for healthy living!

How Ruby Dry Works
How Ruby Dry Works

Desiccant wheel dehumidification systems are becoming increasingly popular particularly in industrial applications although more and more desiccant dehumidifiers are now being manufactuared for home use. With desiccant dehumidifiers, moist air flows over a rotating wheel filled with a desiccant (a material that attracts and holds moisture;this acts like a sponge drawing moisture from the air). The Ruby Dry DH600 uses silicagel, a natural component that produces no Freon or noxious gases. Unlike conventional appliances, the Ruby Dry does not fall within the new End of Life disposal regulations. These regulations require the use of a licensed recycling unit capable of recovering the refrigerant chemical when disposing of electrical appliances, and do not apply to Ruby Dry since the unit has no refrigerant.
As the wheel turns, the desiccant passes alternately through the incoming process air where the moisture is adsorbed, and through a "regenerating" zone where the desiccant is dried and the moisture expelled.Rotation of the wheel is continuous and as such, the adsorbent process is constantly repeated.Desiccant dehumidification absorbs moisture without ice build-up and is not limited by low temperatures.A desiccant dehumidifier usually produces air with a substantially lower relative humidity and slightly raised temperature.
To regenerate the desiccant wheel, air must be heated and sent through the other side of the desiccant wheel to drive out water;this requires energy, hence desiccant dehumidifiers have higher running wattage than compressor based dehumidifiers. However desiccant dehumidifiers get the job done faster and are therefore on for less time;the end result in terms of consumption is therefore very similar.

De-humidifiers: The moisture content of your living environment is very important in successfully controlling dust mite population. Dust mites love warm, damp environments, such as bedrooms and most modern centrally heated homes. Dust mites can't live at humidities below 50%. Using air conditioners and dehumidifiers to keep humidity between 40% and 50% is often recommended. This selection of de-humidifiers will enable you to control your homes humidity to the optimum level, without the air becoming too dry. Dehumidifiers also solve condensation problems on windows, conservatories , bathrooms and kitchens and make your central heating more efficient.

  • Do not locate the Dehumidifier where furniture or other objects can obstruct the airflow
  • Always clean and maintain the filters
