The Ingredients & how they work

Each of this range of products has different carefully chosen ingredients such as natural oils, vitamins, minerals, agents and carriers, all of which are used in various proportions to form a colloidal solution. The advantage of a colloidal solution over creams, dusting powders, ointments and pastes is that it allows a naturally regulated and balanced absorption and distribution of all vital and active ingredients.

Bioskin research has shown that a colloidal solution is the most effective formulation for effective delivery of these ingredients through the pores of the skin, working down through the various layers of the skin and then back up to the surface by osmosis

The sprays consist of active ingredients and carriers and both are important in the treatment of skin conditions. It is being increasingly recognised that the carrier alone may have more than a placebo effect, since it influences the degree of hydration of the skin, has a mild anti-inflammatory effect and aids the penetration of the active ingredients.

Magnesium: A mineral element: necessary for the proper functioning of muscle and nervous tissue

Calcium: A mineral element: an important constituent of bone and teeth and essential for many metabolic processes, including nerve functioning, muscle contraction, and blood clotting.

Sulphur : A non-mineral element: active against fungi and parasites. It is used as a constituent of preparations for the treatment of skin disorders and infections including dermatitis and psoriasis.

Zinc: A mild "astringent" used in various skin conditions. It firms up and protects the skin, helps to reduce bleeding from minor abrasions and provides relief from eczematous conditions.

Australian Tea Tree Oil: Only highly purified and specially prepared organic Tea Tree Oil of "pharmaceutical quality” is used. It is natural antiseptic, has soothing and cooling. It reduces the skin’s bacterial and fungal count and as a consequence reduces the likelihood of any infection.

New Zealand Manuka Oil: It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergenic. It is well tolerated by the skin and even fights the harmful bacteria staphylococcus aureas. It is prepared by the pure steam distillation of freshly chopped plant material at low controlled temperatures. Manuka Oil has recently received worldwide attention for its potent healing power.

Sandalwood Oil (Santalum Spicatum): Possesses anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. It is a natural antiseptic, is non-toxic and non-irritating. It will not generate resistance in microbes, and is 25 times more potent than tee tree oil towards MRSA bacteria and 50 times more potent than tee tree oil towards bacterial and fungal infections. It treats all skin infections, and all fungal infections. Also possesses anti-inflammatory properties and is an effective natural non-steroidal treatment for all inflammatory states. Published clinical trials have demonstrated that our Australian Sandalwood Oil contributes considerable value to the treatment of specific conditions and is biocidal against certain organisms. Preliminary data also suggests that our variety of sandalwood oil might be of value as an ingredient of a topical solution (lotion) to assist in the prevention of skin cancer.

NB: The sandalwood oil used is not to be confused with that generally used in cosmetics and perfumes which does not have the medicinal properties detailed above.

Rosalina Oil : Offers a broad spectrum of anti-microbial properties as well as some mild calming effects. Is an immuno-stimulant.

Manuka Citratum Oil: Provides excellent anti-microbial and anti-histamine properties.

Vegetable (Natural) Glycerine : A clear viscous liquid obtained by hydrolysis of mixed natural oils and used as an emollient and agent to soothe, moisturise and soften the skin. It is also useful in dry eczematous disorders.

Sea Buckthorn: A unique anti-oxidant composition, combining components usually only found separately. Has a very high content of vitamin C, vitamin E and caretenoids. All of these components are classified as natural anti-oxidants, which form a vital part of the body’s defence system.

Natural extracts from plants and essential (vegetal) oils: A specially developed combination and blend for supple skin which calms, nourishes and revitalises the skin.

Vegetal cellulose microparticles: A specially balanced blend providing a gentle and healthy exfoliating effect, lifting impurities and dead surface skin cells, stimulating cellular activity.
